Skye & The Cuillin's                                      Home

The picture on the right indicates how the group arrived at it's name...by cooling the wine in the waterfall by the YH in Glen Brittle (Jim only drinks white.... so to keep it simple we all drank white)

This was our second trip out as a group with Jim, John, Stuart, Jean, Tracy and myself. It was Sky in May & very hot, not words you normally put together, but we were lucky. After a day avoiding the hill issue & walking in woods, we walked up into The Cuillin's.

In truth we were are probably  big disappointment to Tracy who was a mountain climbing type, where as the rest of us a walking for fun types, but to show companionship Jim joined Tracey climbing Squrr Alisdar at 3251 feet, which  is the biggest thing around. Jean & Stuart were trying a different route on the day, but to Tracy's disgust John & I chickened out at the lake at the foot of the last scramble. How wise we were. While Hillary & Tensing went upwards we went and sleep in the sun by a large rock out of the wind
.
On the last night we had a meal out in the Sligahan Hotel & started proceedings off with Wine under the river bridge as it was starting to rain. I always thought drinking under bridges was for 'Gentlemen of the road' but Jim assured us otherwise. >>>>>A fun & memorable trip.
