The South Down's Way               Home

To quote from the Long Distance Walkers Handbook ...." This national trail follows the northern escarpment of the chalk downs from where there are extensive views across the weald to the north and over the sea in the south".... yep I think that covers it. The book also states it is 100 miles long & runs from Eastbourne to Winchester ( but I did it the other way round)

I started this journey as a my weekly walk as soon as I became a DB, completing the first 50 miles as a series of circular trips. The last 50 miles I completed over 4 days in June of the same year staying at
2 Youth Hostels on route. My views of the Way is it provides some spectacular scenery and 'does what it says on the tin' ....South East England at its best. If I had a mild criticism I wish it took you down to the villages a bit more, my need for a quality cup of coffee requires regular attention.

I have not titled any of the pictures...go and find them for yourself.... and enjoy the trip.
