In this organisation we differ on our appreciation of ancient Rome. On a visit to Greece many years ago my brother referred to the Parthenon as 'The Rubble'... I tend to be in this area of apreciation.

But.... I did start to understand how Rome was built up, the sheer extent of the ancient city, the vastness of their architecture and how the building materials have been 'recycled' over the years.

OK ...It was impressive and worth going to see.... but working on my fathers principle that 'culture' comes by the square foot or by the hour, there was a lot of cubic feet of 'culture'.
