Fort William to Tobermory                     Home

 117km/73 miles

This was a Waterfall club trip with Stuart, Jim, John & Jean, based on the thinking we should try to get to the top of Scotland, and this might be a route via the Western Isles..... someday.

The fist part of the trip involved a long road slog from the ferry at Corran to Strontian  along the road, although it was only 15 miles it seemed to go on for ever. If that had not put us off we knocked off a quick 20 miles the next day to Lochaline 50 % of the day on road, the remainder on a path that was there now & again.

Once over to Mull the days took on an easier pace ( they had to we were knackered) The walking on Mull was great, sunny days no wind etc. We finished the whole trip with a bus trip to Iona on the day that John Smith died ( Leader of the labour party ) ...he was later buried at Iona. Apart from the general beauty of Iona we also voted the postmistress, complete with bike on to our 'Delia' list. >>>Great walk with good friends
