The Camino started off as a track running beside the road, but soon turned into an old road, then the main road....just what I needed, more tarmac. The second part of the journey was a long track that ran into Merida. As I had booked a hotel for Jim and myself some time ago I set about visiting the old Roman ruins. I love history and I am very impressed with the Roman stuff, but I just can not get into 'The Ruble' as I call it.... but I did my best.

At Merida, most of the people I had met were leaving, including Suz and the cheerful Danish ladies. Jim's train turned up at sunset and on time and we had a late meal before repairing to our grand hotel room. |
