What great stuff a rain-soaked sky is....as long as it doesn't rain on you. The first hour I was totally absorbed in the big dark skies, terrific fun with my wonky camera. The vineyards have gone and we are now into wheat. Just to add to the drama a lot of odd bits of field banks are being burnt to eradicate the vole epidemic they are getting in this area |

After a CCL with Philip in the town of Santo Domingo de la Calzada we part company as I wanted to draw and eat my lunch at the same time (not a very sociable activity)...producing a questionable drawing while chomping on even more questionable cheese. In the afternoon I walked on to Graņon, where the Albergue was situated as an extension to the church and run by volunteers from the Spanish St James Society. After showering and washing clothes I join Philip for a beer. The bad news is that the sleeping arrangements are grab a mattress and find a place |

Somehow it all seems to work. It also encourages me to think I could sleep on a thermorest if the need arose on future trips....but to be on the safe side I grab two mattresses. |
