We had jointly decide to try and get to Logroņo that day to ease the getting home plan for Jim the next day. So Jim was up, packed and ready to roll by 6.30, which was very impressive as Jim does not 'do' early mornings. By the light of my head torch we made our way along the Camino. The picture above of Jim on the final road to Sansol does not do justice to the early morning hungry feeling I was experiencing. Great sunrise .... but no coffee for miles...we did find a shop that sold bread and bananas..... & SBs, so life was not all that bad.

Having walked through the town of Viana (pictured above and below) we headed for a hotel in Logroņo. As it was Jim's last night we decided we should stay somewhere that could accommodate some Rioja tasting.

After our duty beer, we went shopping for newspapers, CD back up for my camera, and other exciting 'grim' things. Supper was some questionable tapas with a few bottles of very good Rioja Blanca taken in the street outside the bar.... somehow or other we gained a Canadian playmate....who I did not see again, he was a serial pilgrim and bussed the boring bits. Kate and Mike dropped by to cheer us up.
