Denise joins me for the short walk into Leon, which I thought was an interesting journey. The tourist office recommend a good cheap hotel behind the Cathedral, called Hostal Casco Antiguo

After a shower I go for a walk about and bump into, Olaf, Olivia, Ana, Lisa, Joanna and most surprisingly of all Pia, who I thought was powering ahead as she was short of time. Sadly she had injured herself and was getting a train later in the day to take her to Sarria to walk the last 100Km to get her Compostela. To pass the time to her train we do a quick tour of the cathedral, a SB cafe and some pictures with her and a statue of the architect Gaudi.

In the evening I joined up with Olaf, Michael, Ana, Lisa and Denise for a drink. Afterwards Olaf, Denise and I had a very poor meal. Denise and I resolve to try something different the next night.

My day off is spent in sightseeing going up the top of the cathedral, reading newspapers, finding the internet cafe, visiting the Basilica and the odd CCL + SB. By having a day off most of my 'village' of pals has moved on, but as I am having a beer at Cafe Europe I am joined by Philip. He has had a tough time, being one of the chosen people to get D&V bug from Carrion, we catch up on 11 days of news, he is as entertaining as ever.

Eventually we are joined by Julia, ..who is doing her photographic degree thesis on the Camino using a 6X4 Mamya film camera and Denise. Denise and I get involved in a SB search followed by a further search for a decent tapas bar for supper. We also enjoy trying the local Rose wine..... great evening.
