The picture above was taken by Lisa, who was at a different and higher place to me on this foggy morning. She took this fantastic shot of windmills rising out of the fog at sunrise...terrific isn't it. |

Sometimes you take a picture and you like it, without really knowing why....this was my favourite picture that I took of My Camino...Trees by the road on a foggy morning. |

The village names do not get shorter....I left before it became daylight, but it became apparent that I was walking in thick mist, which would remain with me all morning, it was great fun....objects kept appearing out of the mist and disappearing. A young female 'grim walking the other way passed me.... why do these very few pilgrims that are walking home as well as walking to Santiago look so miserable, you'd think they could at least manage 'smug'. Another little incident was a small man that appeared out of the mist and asked for my name and country, I think he prayed for all the 'grims he met. The first thought that passed through my mind was that this was an odd way to pass your time, then it occurred to me my present pastime did not make a lot of sense either. |

One of the benefits of not reading up too much about your trip is you can enjoy little surprises. Coming upon a short stretch of canal was one of them, to be offset by the mind-numbing boring walk of the afternoon, with a couple of delightful old churches thrown in along the way. It is strange to reflect that the murky grey part of the day was the fun bit and the hot sunny part was the boring stage. |
