Dartmoor                                                 Home

Dartmoor has enjoyed a lot of my attention since becoming a DB. Not just because  because I love the desolate beauty of the place, but my brother & his wife (Ian & Mary) live near by and are kind enough to give me lodging as well as an excuse to see them. Finally the empty spaces suits my current painting style.

A walk from Burrotor on a cold February day, accompanied by  Robert, provided one of the best walks on Dartmoor... variety, dramatic scenery, a coffee stop at the right time in Princetown, (questionable ambiance, but great toasted tea bread) clear weather, good company and conversation (it was freezing on Dartmoor & Rob was sharing Part 2 of his world tour...Australia & SE Asia)....that days walk also provided the source for 4 paintings. Including a triptych South Hessary Tour...walk map at the foot of the page.
