Ilkley to Lake WIndermere 131km/ 81 miles

The annual Waterfall club trip with Jimmy , John & Dave. We stayed at  2 Youth Hostels at Kettlewell & Dent using two cars two take us on our daily connecting walks. The weather for day one & two was great with lots of Tea & Toasted Tea cakes. We also got into some pretty deep & meaningful beer tasting. With discussions on the pros & cons of sparklers with our Timothy Taylor's.... by gum lad the ales great in these parts.

Staying at Dent we had deteriorating weather with one day of continuous hard rain, trudging through muddy fields & fending off two terrier dogs. The approach to dealing with them was different, Dave was all for a good swift kick, I thought a direct blow to the head with the pointy end of my stick might sort things out. It's fair to say both the animals & ourselves escaped without to much damage.

On our last night in Dent YHA( which was in the middle of nowhere ) we had a power cut, fortunately we had bottled ale & the gas was still working for the cooking.
