![]() Melinda & Jim kindly invited us to a football match at the college of their youth. This was the USA at it's best, enthusiastic, welcoming, fun, colourful and loud. At no point could you say the affair was understated or discreet. |

For a game that has 4 quarter hour sessions it managed four hours, which is another of life's mysteries. However with marching bands, time outs for TV advertising, Mexican waves>>> also every now and again footballers ran around knocking each other over, in a purposeful sort of way. It was a busy and entertaining four hours. |

At the odd times when I lost the plot watching the football, V Tec's cheer leaders did a good job of keeping me entertained... along with the now stationary marching bands. |

You know you have
seen 'over the top' when a Stealth Bomber flies past as the national
anthem comes to it's climax...the 60,000+ crowd roared with delight >>>
I was also impressed and glad I don't pay US tax .

To misquote Ludovic Kennedy, I knew nothing about American Football before the game started, but now I know nothing, but at a much higher level. However I do have a fine appreciation of the cheer leaders' display. ....................A great day out!
